How does LBF worship?
All of us worship. Whoever you are, whatever you believe, you worship all day long in more ways than you can count.
The question is who or what are you worshiping?
At its core, worship is giving worth to something – finding something greater than ourselves and giving it our attention, time and emotional investment.
LBF’s desire is to be a community of people who worship God with obedience and passion seven days a week wherever we are - at our workplace, in our homes, at a restaurant – everywhere. Showing God that He is worthy and giving him our worship can take many different expressions. It can be a quiet moment with Him alone, singing songs to Him with others, or giving to and helping those in need.
One of the ways LBF worships God as a community is our weekend services. As we expectantly come together to seek God, He reveals Himself to us, and we can’t help but respond. Both individually and in community, we respond in a number of ways, all in humble worship of the One we gather to honor.
These include:
Singing: More than just music, songs of worship are prayers of thanks, awe, need and devotion that prepare our hearts to be changed by God
Giving: God has given us more than we can ever reciprocate. Giving is worship by releasing back to God what He has given us
Communion: This is worship through remembrance. Remembrance of Christ’s death that paid for our sins and His constant presence and love in our lives
Prayer: Prayer is worshiping God through conversation with Him.
Obedience: However God’s Spirit moves us to respond to Him, obedience is the worship He desires.
All these ways to worship God can take place at any place or time. Our hope is that our Weekend services are a catalyst for living our worship for the rest of our week in these ways and more.
