Teaching

Our teaching at LBF centers on speaking to the heart while informing the mind. We strive to develop our teachings as culturally relevant, full of real-life stories – which make the meanings of scriptures easier to understand and remember, applicable to our daily lives, and sometimes down right funny.

We believe Biblical teaching is the catalyst for transformation in the lives of individuals and in the church as a whole. At LBF, we value an expositional style of Biblical teaching. By this, we strive to draw out the meaning and truths found in the Bible

We view the Bible as God’s communication to humanity. According to the Psalms, the Word of God has been given to restore our souls and impart wisdom. It also enlightens our eyes, reveals God’s righteousness. God’s Word endures forever.

Scripture was revealed not merely to inform us but also to transform us. And as we value teaching, preaching, and the study of the Bible, we are transformed into the character of Jesus Christ (Galatians 4:19). Teaching is the process of translating God’s unchanging truths into concepts, terms, and practices that are understandable and appropriate to our cultural setting today.

Life In HD: It's In The Mirrors

June 21-22: Why Buy?
If you are like me you have probably walked into one of the major electronic stores, or possibly into a friend's home and seen a large screen HDTV. Being God's kingdom here on earth, we have an individual and corporate responsibility to live our faith in HD. While I would never assert that having an HDTV is the requirement for our lives, I would strongly teach that living a life that models Christ in such a way that others can see with exceptional clarity, that Christ is in us.

June 28-29: Tech Talk
It is common with electronic equipment that there needs to be some tech talk. Sometimes we get the idea that its as easy as plug and play, install and enjoy, but in reality we sometimes need to do some trouble shooting. In our Christian walk it is no different, we need to do some trouble shooting in our lives. Who is the tech? The Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We can ask God for his help, read the model that Jesus left us in scripture, and be daily guided by the holy spirit as we continue to fix the areas in our lives that need to better reflect Jesus Christ.

July 5-6: Customer Review
If you are like me whenever you make purchases you like to test things out and read information about things. One of those ways is to read customer reviews about products. The Bible instructs us that are to be a light to theworld so that other might see us and praise our Father who is in heaven. The question for us is are people seeing Christ in us? What do people see when they see us?
